PICTURES: New and old faces combine as Kilkenny face Laois in Walsh Shield

Kilkenny travelled to Rathdowney for their first competitive match of the year

Kilkenny secured their first win of 2026 on Sunday afternoon, using many new and old faces from the start and from the bench as they got the better of the neighbours Laois 2-17 to 0-10 in Rathdowney.

A goal in each half from Gearoid Dunne and Liam Moore as well as big showings from Cathal Beirne, Michael Brennan and Eoin Cody was enough for Derek Lyng's team to advance to the Walsh Cup Shield Final next weekend where they will face Kildare at a home venue. - MATCH REPORT HERE
