ALERT: Update given on water restrictions in large part of County Kilkenny

Uisce Éireann have confirmed that nighttime restrictions introduced earlier this week for the Graignamanagh water supply are no longer necessary at this time.

Production at the Graiguenamanagh Water Treatment Plant had been temporarily affected in recent days due to extensive rainfall, however, thanks to ongoing monitoring and tankering to support reservoir levels, normal supply has now stabilised.

LATEST: Widespread flooding with numerous Kilkenny roads impassable

"We appreciate the patience shown by the community while we worked to manage the impact of recent heavy rainfall," Shane Aylward, Water Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann, said.

"The weather continues to be unpredictable, and further heavy rain is forecast," he added.
