Local gardaí have commended Kilkenny Fire Service for their speedy operational response to Storm Eunice today.
With trees reportedly fallen and cables down across the county, the local fire service have been working non-stop to assist in the clear-up.
Removing a fallen tree preventing the flow of traffic near Tullaroan (pictured) was one of many jobs completed today, with many more to come.
The efforts of Kilkenny County Council as a whole has also been highly commended as windy conditions still pose a threat.
LATEST LOCAL ROAD CLOSURES:
The Sion Road in Kilkenny is closed in both directions as live wires have been reported down in the area.
The L6704 at Lavistown is closed due to a fallen ESB pole.
There are also reports of a power line blocking the L4200 Bennettsbridge to Danesfort Road.
Father Hayden Road in Kilkenny City is also currently closed at the Junction of Upper Patrick Street and Saint Patrick’s Close due to roof damage.
