Five traditional bathing areas across the county will be opened and staffed with lifeguards f until the end of August. The lifeguards will be present at the sites from 1pm to 6.30pm during weekends in June and seven days a week in July and August.
Due to lifeguard availability, some swimming areas will have to close on occasion, however plenty of notice will be given across Kilkenny County Council social media and signage will also be erected at the affected locations.
The council thanked Water Safety Ireland Kilkenny for their continued support in training the lifeguards and sharing their expertise and also the lifeguards themselves for their commitments to ensuring safe swimming across the county.
