Kells village traffic flow 'make sense' with new road markings

Work has taken place to improve road safety in the village of Kells.

Line marking of roads means traffic flow in the village now “makes sense,” according to the local county council area engineer.

Declan Murphy told the recent Callan Thomastown Municipal District meeting that there are two priority stop junctions and by regularising the line markings he hopes it will keep vehicles in the right lanes.

Councillor Deirdre Cullen said it was brilliant to see the line markings in the village. No matter how many times she had driven through the village she was never sure who had the right of way, she said.

Drainage works in Kells are also now completed.
