Kilkenny river project team 'ready to go' ahead of major planned works

With just a few weeks to go to the start of a works window for the King’s River in Callan, local councillors have been assured the ‘boys are ready to go.’

Cllr Joe Lyons raised the project at the recent meeting of the Callan Thomastown Municipal District.

July 1 will be ‘King’s River Day,’ he said. “Hopefully the boys are ready to go.” 

This will be phase two of a project to clear silt from the river bed.

Area Engineer, Declan Murphy, assured Cllr Lyons “everything is on track.”
