Foróíge Castlecomer Girls Group hosted a Family Friendly Bingo Fundraiser in Castlecomer Community Hall on Sunday, July 13.
Organising this fundraiser was one of the first steps that the group has taken to achieve their goal of participating in an international youth exchange next year. The purpose of a youth exchange is for young people to travel to another country to learn and develop their personal and professional skills.
Activities are intended to have a positive impact on the young people and organisations involved, the communities where they take place, the youth sector itself and the European economic and societal sectors at large.

The group are extremely grateful to the businesses that supported them by donating prizes for the event. They include Castlecomer Discovery Park, Castlecomer Golf Club, Cunningham’s Fruit & Veg, Curl Up & Dye, Freshco, Freshco Pharmacy, Harrington’s Pharmacy, Londis, McGorisk’s Pharmacy, Peaches Beauty & Skin Clinic, Q Pharmacy, Rowes Hardware, Sarah Jane Beauty, Tirlán and TJ Reid Fitness.
The group would also like to thank those who attended on the day and the staff in Castlecomer Community Hall who made the event such a success.
After the event the young people dropped off the unconsumed cakes and buns to Castlecomer District Hospital who in turn generously donated some return bottles to help with their fundraising.
