Kilkenny man Shane Mahony has been appointed to the academic senior leadership team as Head of Pastoral at the Capital School.
The Premium British Curriculum School is based in Dubai, UAE with many teachers from the UK and Ireland part of their team of staff.
Mahony, is a hugely popular figure locally and is held in high esteem in the city, most especially with his club O'Loughlin Gaels.

"His role spans the whole school, focusing on the personal development and wellbeing of every child," the school said in a statement.
"Mr. Mahony is deeply committed to nurturing resilient, kind, and ambitious individuals, while supporting students in their next steps.
"A passionate advocate for student success, consistency and excellence, his presence will strengthen our school community even further," they concluded.
