TABLE QUIZ-There will be a Table quiz on Friday November 16th at 8.00pm sharp in The Rower Hall. This is a fundraiser for the Rower hall. Four People per table at €5 per person. Adults and all those from first year in secondary school are welcome. A good night is sure to be had by all! Light refreshments will be served.
SHARING FAIR-A Sharing Fair, Crafts Sale and Coffee Morning will take place on 17th November to support the work of Inistioge nun Sr. Mary Hayden of the Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Thailand. Sr. Mary who is from Ballygub, lives in the North East of Thailand and recently celebrated her 93rd birthday. Throughout her life she has worked to establish Self-Help and Income-Generating Projects among the poor in South East Asia. Many of the handcrafts made in the Self Help Projects in Thailand will be on sale in Kilkenny and will include bags, purses, scarves, educational toys, home accessories and Christmas gifts. All the proceeds from the sales are returned directly to support the projects. The event will take place in Langton’s of John Street, Kilkenny between 10am and 1pm on Saturday 17th November.
LYMPHOEDEMA TALK HOSTED BY THE HOPE CANCER SUPPORT CENTRE-The hope centre has invited a chartered physiotherapist to give a short presentation on lymphoedema on THURSDAY 15TH November from 10am -12pm. Lymphoedema is a swelling which can develop on the affected side following surgery or treatment for breast cancer. This is an opportunity for women who are affected to gain any information in the prevention and management of this problem. It is essential to book a place as numbers are limited. TABLE QUIZ-Nore Valley AC is holding a table quiz in Woodstock Arms in Inistioge at 8pm on 23rd November. €20 per table of four. Prize money €100. Raffle with spot prizes. All funds raised going to Nore Valley Athletic Club.
CAMOGIE NEWS-Well done to the under 21 camogie team who won the county semi final on Saturday last. They beat Paulstown with a score of 3-11 to 1-1. They meet Piltown in the county final on Saturday 17th Novembe,r time and venue to be confirmed. The camogie club invite all to come to their Christmas themed fancy dress party on Friday 7th December at 9pm in Murphys pub, the Rower. Admission only €5 with music on the night. Looking forward to seeing the best Christmas jumper!!!
