My Lovely Horse Rescue have taken to social media to highlight the plight of many local animals at this time of year by describing a recent example in Kilkenny.
"Right now so many animals are suffering, living in a nightmare trying to survive. Most of these animals trapped by cruel humans. We have never ever experienced the sheer volume of animals needing help before," they stated.
"Thankfully people saw this poor dog (pictured above), trying to sleep in the freezing cold. They called into the house and got the dog. The man that owned him had the dog tied up and didn’t want it anymore! Quite happy if he just died. No consequences.
"The people who saved this very sweet dog scooped him up in their arms and got him straight to a vet, his body was frozen, they thought he wouldn’t make it.
"Last night we spoke to these kind people, this innocent little pitbull has spent 24 hours under a heat lamp and is finally wagging his tail, still trusting humans.
"They can hold him for a few days and then he might have to go to the local dog pound in Kilkenny. Please, let’s help, he so deserves more. We will have him neutured as soon as he’s well. If you have experience with this type of dog you will know that they are kind and loyal. This boy deserves a chance."
My Lovely Horse are seeking interested parties that can give this boy a new lease of life and a comforting forever home to contact them on social media.
