Pictures: Kilkenny's Mayfair Library hosts Grow members’ art exhibition

Grow is a community of people drawn together by first-hand experiences of mental health challenges, with weekly meetings in Kilkenny

Grow Mental Health Members Arts Exhibition ran from September 2 — 6 in the Mayfair Library.

Organisers thanked all the staff in the library for their assistance. Grow Mental Health were recipients of the Community Connect Fund through St Canice’s Credit Union and as a result of receiving funding we were able to frame all of the Member's pieces. Grow’s new CEO Annabel O’Keeffe attended the launch.

Grow is a community of people drawn together by first-hand experiences of mental health challenges. Having found practical ways of helping each other recover from mental health challenges or life struggles, they developed what is now referred to as The Grow Programme. The group meets weekly in locations all over Ireland and online.

Three Grow meetings take place weekly in Kilkenny, one weekly in Carlow and one weekly in Tipperary. All group supports are free for over-18s, no referral is needed, there are no waiting lists, and meetings are confidential and carried out in a supportive setting.

They use a 12 Steps of Growth and Recovery and the Grow Programme to help people help themselves to take back control over their own lives.
