This year’s Gaiety run has a special connection to the Marble City, as the cast features two native Kilkenny performers: Kevin Reade takes on the role of Jim Brennan, while Sinéad Byrne brings her energy and skill to the dancing ensemble. Their involvement adds an extra layer of pride for Kilkenny audiences and a wonderful opportunity to support performers from our own community.

Back by overwhelming demand after its triumphant 2024 debut — which previewed in The Watergate Theatre in before its sold-out 3Olympia run — this uplifting musical play brings the sparkle and magic of 1960’s showband Ireland roaring back to life. It’s perfect for Showband lovers — the parents and grandparents who lived through the era — but it has also struck a chord with younger audiences, making it a truly intergenerational experience.
