Kilkenny singer goes Spinnin’ into 2026 with new release

Kilkenny singer, Patrick Dowling

Kilkenny singer Patrick Dowling has just released his new track, Spinnin’.

The release comes fresh off support slots with Cork’s Lyra at the Set Theatre and Waterford’s Moncrieff at The Haven Hotel, Dunmore East.

Spinnin’ is an upbeat pop track that depicts the excitement of going for a drive with a new love interest, a relatable dating experience for young people in rural Ireland.

“You would be hard pushed to find a person where I’m from, who hasn’t gone on a date which included a spin, McFlurry and a cheeky shift,” said Dowling.

“Spinnin’ is all about the beginning of a relationship, which often includes aimless car journeys, shooting the breeze, and destinations unknown.

“It’s a feel-good track to wrap up what has been an awesome 12 months of gigging and releasing new music,” he said.

It’s been an eventful 2025 for Dowling, who released his debut single Midsummer back in April.
Since then, the South Kilkennyman has released several other tracks, including Colossal, which featured on Claire Beck’s All Irish music show on Today FM, and Light it Up, which was chosen as Beat 102-103’s Play Irish Track of the Week in August.

Take off

“Yeah, 2025 has been a crazy year with things really starting to take off,” he said.

“After years of busking and playing gigs in pubs, it means a great deal to be able to play my own original music to bigger audiences.

“A particular pinch-me moment was hearing my music being played on local, regional and national radio,” he added. “It’s really the stuff of dreams.”

People can listen to Spinnin’ along with Patrick Dowling’s other work on iTunes, Spotify and all streaming platforms now.
