The Tholsel Bar
An exciting new chapter is on the way for one of Kilkenny City’s most recognisable buildings.
The Tholsel Bar on High Street is undergoing a full renovation and is expected to reopen in late summer or early autumn 2025.
The landmark premises is being transformed into a high-specification, contemporary bar.
The redesign will blend modern finishes with the traditional charm and historic character that have long made the Tholsel building a key feature of the city centre.

Alongside the new bar space, the premises includes six spacious bedrooms overhead. These offer potential for boutique guest accommodation or longer-term rental, presenting further revenue opportunities.
