Chief Executive of Kilkenny Chamber John Hurley
Chief Executive of Kilkenny Chamber John Hurley has said that the Infrastructure Action Plan is a step toward addressing long-standing barriers to delivery.
“In Kilkenny Chamber the message is clear: housing and infrastructure must move from aspiration to action. The Action Plan sets out ambitious reforms and we welcome the focus on accountability,” he said.
"Its impact will rely on that accountability and turning time-bound commitments into measurable outcomes. Energy, water and wastewater, and public transport infrastructure are all critical enablers of housing delivery and have a direct impact on our competitiveness and quality of life.
“When infrastructure stalls, businesses pay the price through higher costs, lost opportunities and reduced ability to expand,” he added. “This in turn contributes directly to consumers’ cost of living. The proposed legal reforms represent necessary intervention to unlock critical projects that are frequently trapped in planning or delayed by inefficiencies in processes.”
