Passengers in Callan and Thomastown are set to benefit from a series of bus stop improvements as part of Kilkenny’s ongoing Bus Stop Enhancement Programme.

Further works are planned at stops in both towns, with the upgrades aimed at improving the safety, visibility and comfort of passengers.

In Callan, an additional shelter is proposed for the southbound bus stop on Green Street, while upgrades are also planned for the northbound stop.

Meanwhile, in Thomastown, works will include the installation of new kerbing, bus stop markings and updated timetable information at both stops.

The improvements form part of an ongoing programme to enhance bus infrastructure across Kilkenny and make public transport facilities more accessible and user-friendly.

A consultation period is currently open, with members of the public invited to make submissions on the proposed works.

The consultation period will remain open until Friday, September 4.
