Last Sunday in Kilkenny, the driver of this SUV towing a horsebox was stopped in the city by members of the road policing unit.
He failed a roadside test showing positive for cannabis and cocaine.
The driver was then arrested and the vehicle (untaxed and unlicenced to pull a trailer) was seized.
A blood test was taken back at the station.
"The horse was safely repatriated," a garda spokesperson said.
"The driver awaits the results from analysis."
