Mr Pesce was highly intoxicated. He was arrested and taken to Kilkenny Garda Station.
There were seven previous convictions recorded against Mr Pesce.
Solicitor Alexander Rafter said his client is remorseful. Mr Pesce had been on a path that was not good, but got away from that and went to the UK, where he works as a chef.
He was visiting home and had too much to drink.
Mr Rafter said his client is ‘annoyed with himself’ and embarrassed at the incident.
Judge Geraldine Carthy said it was “quite obvious alcohol doesn’t suit this gentleman at all.” She convicted him of being intoxicated in public and imposed a fine of €300.
