The death has occurred of Martin Phillip (Phil) Cantwell, Patrick St, Trim, Co Meath (formerly of Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny). Phil passed away peacefully on May 22, 2025, in the wonderful care of the staff of The Sycamore Unit, Connolly Hospital, Blanchardstown surrounded by his loving wife and family. Pre-deceased by his brothers Pat (Carlow) and Brendan (Mullingar). Beloved husband of Brid (née Quinlan) and much loved father of Vincent, Olivia, Carol, Marina and Philippa. Sadly missed by his sisters-in law Mary and Maureen; daughter-in-law Blathnaid; sons-in-law Bern, Gene, Martin; his adored grandchildren, relatives and friends.

The death has occurred of John Walsh, Ballygriffin, Kilmacow, Kilkenny, formerly of Fybagh, Castlemaine, County Kerry (alias “The Kerry Man”). Age 87 years. After a short illness and a long happy life, John passed away peacefully on Wednesday surrounded by his loving family and pets. Sadly missed by his wife Kitty and sons John and Maurice, relatives, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Marlena Hale, Clapham, London, and 47 Larchfield, Kilkenny. Marlena passed away on May 10, 2025, in London, after a short illness. Predeceased by her father Brandon. Marlena will be deeply missed by her beloved mother Maeve (née Hogan), brother Troy, her partner Paul, sister-in-law Natasha, nephews Brandon, Warrick and Nathan, her extended family in London and Kilkenny and her many friends.

The death has occurred of Robert (Bob) Brereton, Parnell Street, Kilkenny, and formerly of Crewe, Cheshire, UK. Robert passed away on May 20, 2025 in the loving care of the staff at Kilkenny Care Centre. Predeceased by his beloved parents Jack and Lily. Bob will be dearly missed by his life partner Philip (Phil) Gargan, Philip's family, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family in England and Australia and friends everywhere.

The death has occurred of Michael Marlow of Garryduff, Paulstown formally of Saffron Walden and Chelmsford in Essex, who died Friday, May 16, at St Luke’s Hospital. He leaves his loving wife Mary, sons Paul and Nigel, brother Tony and step-daughter Lisa. Predeceased by his stepson Karl in March this year. Sadly missed by his grandsons Ryan and Ben and daughter-in-law Natalia.
Funeral service will take place in St. Mary’s Church Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow on Friday, May 23, at 12 noon.
