Ellen Coady (née Egan)

The death has occurred of Ellen Coady (née Egan), St. Patrick’s Terrace, Newbridge, Kildare / Graiguenamanagh, Kilkenny. Peacefully at Ashley Lodge Nursing Home. Sadly missed by her loving sister Marie, nephews and nieces, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Glennons Funeral Home, 32 Main Street, Newbridge from 5pm on Thursday with rosary at 7pm. Removal on Friday morning to arrive at St. Conleth's Parish Church, Newbridge, for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial afterwards in Calvary Cemetery, Graiguenamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Mass will be live-streamed on the Newbridge Parish website: https://www.newbridgeparish.ie/parish-church.

Margaret Drennan (née Fitzpatrick)

The death has occurred of Margaret Drennan (née Fitzpatrick), Hill Road, Kilmoganny, Co. Kilkenny.Suddenly, at her residence on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Pre-deceased by her husband Noel and her parents Harney and Biddy. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her heartbroken family, her children Janice, Christina, Willie, Patrick and Mark, her grandchildren Leona, Nicole, Nathan, Tara and Grace, Dylan, Noelle, Caoimhe, Raegan and Sophia, Brandon, Nadeen, Sienna, Reece and Cade, Craig, Chloe and Naevaeh, daughters-in-law Tina, Julianne and Ann Marie, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

House private please. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Catherine (Kitty) Kearney (née Delaney)

The death has occurred of Catherine (Kitty) Kearney (née Delaney), De La Salle Place, Kilkenny, and formerly of Stephen Street. Kitty passed away on June 1, 2025, peacefully, surrounded by family, in the wonderful care of the staff at Kilkenny Care Centre. Predeceased by her parents Mary and Johnny Delaney and her brothers Paddy, John and infant Danny. Beloved mother of Jason, Sabrina, Tony, Jonathan and Amy. Kitty will be dearly missed by her heartbroken family, brothers Jimmy, Thomas and Michael, sisters Mary, Dena and Eileen, grandchildren Tori, John, Jason, Hazel, AJ, Shanice, Kyle, Teagan and Kiyah, sons-in-law Kenneth and Calem, nephews and nieces, extended family, neighbours, friends and all who knew her.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R96XE00) on Tuesday, June 3, from 5pm to 7pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6.15pm. Requiem Mass on Wednesday at 10.30am in St. John's Church. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran's Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed HERE

Oliver O'Reilly

The death has occurred of  Oliver O’ Reilly, late of Sweet Briar Lawn, Tramore, Co. Waterford, formerly of Piltown/Templeorum, Co. Kilkenny. Formerly of the Ardree Hotel. Oliver passed peacefully in University Hospital Waterford surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 1, 2025. Predeceased by his beloved wife Josie, his infant son Nigel and all his brothers and sisters. Oliver will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children Yvonne, Dorothy, David and Olivia; his sister-in-law Colette, his adoring and treasured grandchildren Jade, Adam, Brian, Isabel, Robyn, Lauren, Sasha and his great-grandson Cillian and his sons-in-law. He will be remembered fondly by his nieces and nephews his extended family, relatives, many friends and wonderful neighbours.

The O’Reilly family would like to thank with great appreciation all the staff in Medical 3 ward and all the staff in University Hospital Waterford for the exceptional care and kindness Oliver received throughout his illness. Oliver will repose at Falconers Funeral Home, Riverstown, Tramore (X91 TW21) on Tuesday, June 3, from 5pm to 7pm. Oliver’s Requiem Mass will take place on Wednesday, June 4, 10am in the Church of The Holy Cross, Tramore, Co. Waterford. Immediately after, Oliver will be laid to rest in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Tramore. Anyone wishing to take part in Oliver’s Requiem Mass remotely please follow the link below. Mass Link Oliver’s funeral cortege will walk from his residence in Sweet Briar Lawn at approximately 09:40am on Wednesday morning to arrive for his Requiem Mass. Kay O'Sullivan (née Hogan)

The death has occurred of Kay O'Sullivan (née Hogan), 11 Creel Street, Freshford, Kilkenny. Kay passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. Pre-deceased by her mother Sarah, father Jim, sister Mary, brother Paddy, niece Áine and cousin Seán Flynn. Kay will be sadly missed by her loving family, husband Ollie, son Oliver, grand-daughter Holly, sister Sarah, nephew Bryan, sisters Anne, Genny, Jackie, Vicky, Olive, Lisa, brother Leo, sister-in-law Renee, cousin Jo, nieces, nephews, the O'Sullivan family, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday, June 3, at 11am in St. Lachtain's Church, R95 K003. Burial afterwards in St. Lachtain's Cemetery. Thomas Boland

The death has occurred of Thomas Boland, Foulkscourt, Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, May 31, 2025, peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the excellent care of nurses and staff at Villa Marie nursing home Roscrea Co. Tipperary. Predeceased by his parents, his brothers and sister. Sadly missed and remembered with love by his wife Brigid, son Oliver, daughters Deirdre and Sharon, daughter-in-law Michelle, son-in-law Jim, grandchildren Kevin, Tadgh, Éadaóin, Sinéad, David and Mark, great grandchildren, brother Patrick sisters Mary, Margaret, Ann, Breda and Winnie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

ANDREW (ANDY) PHELAN

The death has occurred of Andrew (Andy) Phelan, Killeen, Mullinavat, Co. Kilkenny, who died on Saturday, May 31,  2025, aged 91 years. Peacefully at his home in the tender care of his loving sister and devoted caregivers, the Fitpatricks, predeceased by his parents Patrick and Margaret, sister Sr. Noreen (SRM) Andy will be deeply missed by his sisters Mary (Mahony) and Elizabeth, nieces Inez and Mary, nephew Philip, caregivers Tom, Geraldine and Emma Fitzpatrick, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Andy's removal will take place on Tuesday, June 3, to St. Beacon's Church, Mullinavat, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.30pm, after which Andy will be laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. MASS LINK   DONATIONS LINK

Eileen Imelda Vickers (née Breen)

The death has occurred of Eileen Imelda Vickers (née Breen), 1 Canon Kennedy Court, Callan, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on Thursday, May 29, 2025. Pre-deceased by her husbands John Vickers and William Johnson, her sisters Mary Jo and Kathleen and her brothers Dan and James. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sorrowing family, her children Paul, Kevin, Anne, Mary and Declan, her sister Brenda (Farrell), sons-in-law Jed and Robert, daughters-in-law Ailsa, Joanne and Anne-Marie, grandchildren Patrick and Robyn, Sam, Callum and Glenn, Luke, Thomas and Niall, Daniel, Declan and Ciara, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan (Eircode R95 Y443) on Thursday, June 5, from 5pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Funeral Prayers on Friday, June 6, at 10.15am followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Callan arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am.
