Edward Kelly

The death has occurred of Edward Kelly, formerly of 88 Kilkenny Street, Castlecomer and Philipsburg Avenue, Fairview, Dublin and Ex. Aer Lingus. Peacefully in the loving care of the management and staff of Drakelands Nursing Home, on November 4, 2025. Predeceased by his parents Jimmy and Bridget, stepmother Rosaleen, brothers, John, Gerry, Noel and infant brothers Gabriel and Joseph. Sadly missed by his brothers Kieran, Martin, Austin, Jimmy and Eamon, sisters-in-law Anne, Josie, and Liz, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer on Thursday, November 6, from 5pm, concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Funeral Prayers on Friday at 10am, followed by Removal to the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Castlecomer for Requiem Mass at 11am. Edward will be laid to rest thereafter in the adjoining cemetery. The Funeral Mass can be viewed HERE

Josephine (Josie) McPhillips (née Knox)

The death has occurred of Josephine (Josie) McPhillips, Park View, Freshford Road, Kilkenny, on November 4, 2025, (peacefully) in the wonderful care of the staff at Tinnypark Nursing Home. Beloved wife of the late Tom. Josie will be sadly missed by her loving sons Pat, Tommy and Eamon, daughters-in-law Rosemary, Mary and Caroline, her thirteen grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. Predeceased by her sisters Alice, Brigid, Peggy and Annie, her brother Jack and her twin sister Maura.

Requiem Mass on Thursday in St. Canice's Church at 10.30am followed by interment in Foulkstown Cemetery. House private on Thursday. Josie's Requiem Mass will be live streamed HERE

Patrick (Paddy) Kennedy

The death has occurred of Patrick (Paddy) Kennedy, 9 Ashurst College Road, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny, R95 WF2H. Formerly Ardabawn, Tullaroan, Co. Kilkenny. He passed away peacefully in St Lukes Hospital Kilkenny surrounded by his family. Paddy is pre-deceased by his parents Michael and Maureen Kennedy (née Birch) Tullaroan, his brother Martin, and his sister and brothers in law Esther, Tom and Sean. Paddy will be very much missed by his loving family, his wife Bridgid (Gibbons), his children Margaret and Michael, son-in-law Seamus Greene, grandchildren Joe, Charlie, Ella, Danny and Emily Greene, his sisters Sr. Kathleen, Breda (McStay), Mary (Kennedy) and Eileen (Henihan) and his nieces and nephews, his extended family neighbours and friends.

Removal from his home on Thursday, November 6, to St. Patrick's Church, College Road, Kilkenny (R95 VX96) for Requiem Mass at 11am. Funeral afterwards to St. Lachtain's Cemetery, Freshford, Co. Kilkenny. You may view the Mass through the following link: https://mcn.live/Camera/st-patricks-kilkenny

Jim Byrne

The death has occurred of Jim Byrne, Newtown, Thomastown, Kilkenny, R95 C7F7. (Formerly of Old Leighlin and Borris Co Carlow). Jim died on Monday, November 3, peacefully at his home surrounded by his family. Beloved husband of Teresa, and a wonderful dad to Elaine, John, Ann, Clodagh and Dawn. A proud and loving grandad to Craig, Shannon, Orla, Ciara, Colm, Darragh, Molly, Jimmy, Donnacha, Fáinche, Dearbhla, Aoibhe, Ria and Jaime, who brought him so much joy. Sisters Mary, Kathleen and Margaret, sons-in-law James, Brian, John and Derek, daughter-in-law Andrea, his brothers-in-law Paddy, Ron, David, Michael, Pat, John and Martin, sisters-in-law Anne, Nollaig and Imelda, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends. A man of great charm and quick humour, who could light up any room. He leaves behind a lifetime of laughter, love and unforgettable memories.

Removal from his home on Thursday,  November 6, to the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown to arrive for 11am Requiem Mass followed by interment in St Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. No flowers please. Donations if desired to: Community Palliative Care Team.

Bridget (Bridie) Jordan (née Carroll)

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) Jordan (née Carroll), Corbally, Limerick and formerly of Wicklow Town, Blackrock, Co. Dublin, Greenhills and Callan, Co. Kilkenny. Bridie died peacefully, at Athlunkard House Nursing Home, on Tuesday,  November 4, surrounded by her loving family. Bridie was much loved by her husband of 63 years Johnny, her sons Albert, Paul, Brian, and Mark, daughters-in-law Heather, Sorcha, Desiree and Suzanne, grandchildren Glen, Lee, Kim, Latisha, Hazel, Caoimhe, Eadaoin, Eoghain, Sam, Aliya and Jake. She will be much missed by her surviving sisters Chrissie (Lynch) and Rita (Young), sister-in-law Biddy, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, relatives and friends.

Bridie will repose at Molloy’s Funeral Home, Callan, Co. Kilkenny (Eircode R95 Y443) on Saturday, November 8, from 10am. Funeral Prayers at 11.15am followed by removal to The Church of the Assumption, Callan (Eircode R95 VK82), arriving for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in Kilbride Cemetery, Callan.
