The death has occurred of Josie Whelan (née Roche), Ballavarra, Graignamanagh, Kilkenny. Predeceased by her loving husband Paddy, daughter Catherine, granddaughter Sabrina, great-granddaughter Saoirse and brothers Richie, John and Aidan. Josie died peacefully at home in the loving tender care of her family. Sadly, missed by her loving daughter Nora, sons Sean, Pat and Declan, sister Eily, brother Paddy, grandchildren Lisa, Nicola, Christopher, Noreen, Dean, Niamh, Tony, Megan, Michaela, Colleen, Ann and Oisín, great-grandchildren Keleigh, Keeva, Killian, Katie, Mia, Paddy, Hannah, Imogen, Josie and Rian, sister-in-law Rosie, brother-in-law Paddy, sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
Reposing at Cooney's Funeral Home, New Ross, on Tuesday, November 11, from 3pm concluding at 7pm, pausing for Rosary at 6pm. Funeral Mass will take place on Wednesday, November 12, at 11am in Church of The Assumption, The Rower, followed by burial afterwards in The Rower Cemetery. Kay passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on November 9, 2025 at University Hospital, Waterford after a long illness borne with dignity and courage. Kay will be dearly missed by her loving husband Noel, daughter Yvonne, sons Fran, Billy, Darren, Gary, Conor, Shane and James, brother Eddie, sisters Mary, Nora, Sheila and Helen, daughters-in-law Gráinne and Ann, son-in-law Mairtín, her 15 adored grandchildren, extended family, kind neighbours and her many friends.
