Carl Widger

The death has occurred of Carl Widger, Newpark Lawn, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny. Carl passed away (suddenly) at his home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. Predeceased by his parents John and Alva, baby brother Don, sister Alva and brother Tom. A beloved husband to Ann, cherished and adored father of Sarah (Rice), Kate (Crehan), Carl and Jenny (Meredith), grandfather of Cathal, Jack, Daniel, Orlagh, Molly, Laura, Robbie, Rachel, Chloe, Emma, Sophie and Billy. Loving brother of Dorothy. Carl will be missed dearly by his sons-in-law Colm, Owen and Brian, his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Hehir's Funeral Home (R95 FH90) on Thursday, November 13 (his birthday), from 4pm with funeral prayers at 6pm followed by removal to St. John's Church (R95 XH7K). Requiem Mass on Friday at 10.30am followed by interment in St. Kieran's Cemetery. Aimee Ryan (née Murphy)

The death has occurred of Aimee Ryan (née Murphy), Grovine, Kilkenny, on November 11, 2025 (peacefully) at her home. Beloved wife of William and darling daughter of Martin and Mary. Amy will be deeply missed by her heartbroken husband and parents, brothers Niall and Brian, father-in-law Thomas, brother-in-law Tommy, nieces Sarah and Rebecca, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.

Reposing at Hehir's Funeral Home from 7.15pm on Thursday, November 13,  with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 8pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 2pm in St. Joseph's Church, Foulkstown, followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery.

Ann Little

The death has occurred of Ann Little, Clongowen, Waterford Road, Kilkenny, and formerly of Altamount Park. Ann passed away on  November 11, 2025, unexpectedly, at her home. Predeceased by her father Ben. Beloved daughter of Eileen and much loved sister of Mary, Helen and Jo. Ann will be dearly missed by her heartbroken family, brother-in-law Paul, Jo's partner Darren, nieces and nephew Caroline, Aisling, Sara, Roisin, Deirdre, Shanna and Ben, their partners, grandnieces and grandnephews, extended family, neighbours, her wide circle of friends and her work colleagues at St. Luke's Hospital.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Friday, November 14, from 4.30pm to 7.30pm with prayers recited at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 10.30am in St. John's Church, Kilkenny (R95XH7K). Funeral afterwards to Foulkstown Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here REQUIEM MASS Family flowers only. Josie Lannon (née Grace)

The death has occurred of Josie Lannon (née Grace), 26 Dangan Terrace, Thomastown, Kilkenny, formerly of Grennan, Thomastown. Josie passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 11, in her 92nd year, in the loving care of her family who are deeply indebted to her wonderful carers. She is deeply regretted and will be sadly missed by her loving family, beloved mother of Maureen (O'Brien), Paudie, Helen (Brennan), Willie, Annette (Whelan), Ger, Deirdre (O'Keeffe), sons-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brother Percy, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends. Josie is predeceased by her husband Jim, parents Bill and Molly Grace, sister Ellen and brothers Jim, Paddy, William and John.

Reposing at her home (R95 A5XO) on Friday, November 14, from 4pm to 8pm with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7.30pm with house private outside these hours please. Removal on Saturday morning to the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown to arrive for 12 noon Requiem Mass followed by interment in St Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. Julie Browne (née Kent)

The death has occurred of Julie Browne (née Kent), 27 Brandon Park, Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Julie passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at her home.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Dolores (Dee) Curran

The death has occurred of Dolores (Dee) Curran, Pennsylvania, USA, and formley of Lower Grange, Goresbridge, Co Kilkenny, on September 30, 2025, surrounded by her loving family and friends. Predeceased by her parents Matt and Anne and her brother Pat. Dolores will be sadly missed by her loving brothers Matthew and Sean, sisters-in-law Loretta and Lisa, nephews Matty, Kieran, Jack, Archie, Thomas, Dylan, Conor, and niece Emily, aunts, uncles, cousins, and her many wonderful friends and neighbours. Dolores's family would like to express their utmost gratitude and thanks to Dolores's many friends and neighbours for their care, kindness, and compassion to Dolores during her illness, and there outstanding support to Dolores family during this difficult time

Funeral Mass at 12pm on Saturday, November 15, in the Church of the Holy Trinity, Goresbridge. Burial afterwards in Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery.

Karen Young O'Mahoney

The death has occurred of Karen Young O'Mahoney, 2 Friarsbridge, Kilkenny City, Kilkenny, on Saturday, Noveber 8, 2025. Karen is pre-deceased by her father and mother, Edward and Mary Young and her sister Alison. Karen passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and in the compassionate care of the dedicated staff of St. Vincent's University Hospital. Beloved wife and soul mate of her best friend Johnny. Cherished mother of Rosie and Amie. Karen will be very sadly missed by her extended Young and O'Mahoney families. Much loved sister and lifelong friend of Anne, Teresa and Julie. A devoted and loving aunt to her nieces Carina, Órla, Fi, Rachel, Áine, Katie, Lucy, Jodie, Heidi, Síofra, Liath and Eimear and nephews Chris, Darren, Evian, Dion, Finn and Lennon. Deeply regretted by her sisters-in-law, Siobhán, Celine, Áine, Eileen, brothers-in-law Gerry, Denis, Joe, Pat, Brian, Kieran and Jimi and Rosie's partner Conor. A special thanks to Kevin and Maeve for giving us extra time with Karen and to Tommy for the miracle he performed on our house renovations in time for Karen's home-coming.

Funeral Mass in St. Mary's Cathedral on Thursday, November 13, at 11am. Karen's cremation will take place on Friday at 2pm. in the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co. Cork.

Patrick (Pat) Reddy

The death has occurred of Patrick (Pat) Reddy, late of Tinnapark, Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Pat passed away peacefully in the care of the staff of Borris Lodge nursing home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Predeceased by his sister Kathleen, brothers Tony and Michael. Deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his beloved wife Carmel (née Brennan), sister Maura, daughter Michelle, sons Paul and Brian, daughters in law Shiho and Karin, son in law Lou, sister in law Margaret and his adoring grandchildren Erin, Aisling, Luca, Oisin, Alex and Christian, nieces and nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Removal from Walsh's Funeral Home on Thursday, November 13, at 10.40am to Duiske Abbey for 11am requiem Mass, followed by burial in Calvary cemetery

Catherine (Kay) Whelan (née Hennessy)

The death has occurred of Catherine (Kay) Whelan (née Hennessy), Riverview, Gallowshill, Kilkenny, and late of Wallstown, Tullaroan. Kay passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on November 9, 2025 at University Hospital, Waterford after a long illness borne with dignity and courage. Kay will be dearly missed by her loving husband Noel, daughter Yvonne, sons Fran, Billy, Darren, Gary, Conor, Shane and James, brother Eddie, sisters Mary, Nora, Sheila and Helen,  daughters-in-law Gráinne and Ann, son-in-law Mairtín, her 15 adored grandchildren, extended family, kind neighbours and her many friends. Kay is predeceased by her parents Billy and Julia Hennessy, infant children Thomas and Mary and infant granddaughter Rinoa.

Requiem Mass on Thursday at 11am in St. Patrick's Church, Kilkenny. Funeral afterwards to Ballykeeffe Cemetery, Co. Kilkenny House strictly private at all times please. Donal Norton

The death has occurred of Donal Norton, late of, Tullaroan, Kilkenny, and Lincolnshire, England. Donal died suddenly in England. Pre-deceased by his parents Danny and Ellen. Deeply regretted by his loving wife Jean, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Donal's funeral will take place in England at a later date.

Jimmy Hurley

The death has occurred of Jimmy Hurley, Kilkenny Road, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny. Jimmy passed suddenly, but peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on November 9, 2025. Pre-deceased by his parents Mary and Edward, brother Martin, sisters Mary and Alice. Jimmy will be sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, sons Raymond, Paul, Patrick, James, daughters Kathleen, Jane and Ann, sons-in-law Martin and Nigel, daughter-in-law Sabrina, partners Jos, Ann-Marie, Samantha and Paul, brother Paddy (Dublin), Christy (Ballyragget), sisters Christina (Wexford), Bridgie (Kildare), Ann (Freshford), grandchildren Adam, Caitlín, Kyle, TJ, Bláithín, Amelia, Lonnóg, Cillian, Sarah, Katie and Lucy, nieces and nephews, extended family, and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Coady's Funeral Home, Castlecomer on Thursday, November 13, from 4pm, concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 7pm. Funeral cortege arriving at Saint Patrick's Church, Ballyragget, on Friday for Requiem Mass at 12 Noon. Jimmy will be laid to rest thereafter in the Parish Cemetery, Castlecomer. Kitty O'Reilly (née Day)

The death has occurred of Kitty O'Reilly (née Day), Newtown, Thomastown, Kilkenny, on Tuesday, November 11, 2025, surrounded by close family, at St. Luke's General Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by her parents Luke and Maggie and her husband Paddy. Kitty will be dearly missed by her loving family - children: Elaine, Ciara and Killian, sister Peggy, brother Barty, daughter-in-law Anna, son-in-law David, her five grandchildren: Una, Tadgh, Luca, Neala, and Osheen, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Alice Cairns (née Brennan)

The death has occurred of Alice Cairns (née Brennan), Ballyroan Road, Templeogue and formerly Lisnafunchin, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. Suddenly, but peacefully, surrounded by her family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Philip. Cherished mam to Mary, Sandra, Helen, Suzanne, Philip and Eoin, loving grandmother to Ciara, Liam, Rory, Theo, Edith and Adah. Alice will be deeply missed and remembered always by her heartbroken family, her sisters Ellen, Catherine and Liz, her brothers Joe, Billy and Johnny, her sons-in-law Arne and Gary, her daughter-in-law Loretta, her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives and a wide circle of friends.
