Joe (Joseph) Daly

The death has occurred of Joe (Joseph) Daly, Jerpoint Church, Thomastown Co Kilkenny and formerly of Jerpoint West, Thomastown, peacefully, on November 12, in the loving care of the staff of the Oak Ward, Palliative Care Unit, WRH, surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his beloved son Brian, parents Paddy and Tessie, brothers Jim, Billy and John, sisters Ann, Rita (Teesdale) and Bernie (O'Neill). Forever loved, forever missed by his wife Kathleen, son Ian, daughter Leona, daughter in law Amanda, son in law Davy, grandchildren Lauren, Saoirse, Dan, Ella and Joey, Joe's brothers Paddy, Mick, Brendan, and Frank, sister Mary, extended family, neighbours, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Fondly remembered also by his dear friends from Camphill Ballytobin, where he worked with dedication for 40 years.

Removal from his residence on Monday, November 17, to Thomastown Community Centre arriving for 11am (walking from Mill Street) for a celebration of Joe's life followed by removal to the Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy, Co Cork for service at 4pm. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Palliative Care Team in Waterford, The Homecare Team, The Irish Hospice Foundation, their family GP, Public Health Nurse and Healy's pharmacy for their exceptional care, kindness and support throughout Joe's illness. Family flowers only please, donations, if desired to the Oak Ward, University Hospital Waterford and the Homecare Team. Donations box will be provided. 

Mary Butler (née Delahunty)

The death has occurred of Mary Butler (née Delahunty), Ballyconra, Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny. She died peacefully in St. Luke's Hospital Kilkenny on Friday, November 14, 2025. Deeply regretted by her husband Tom, son Thomas, brother John, brother-in-law Jack, Miriam and family, sister-in-law Catherine, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Removal Monday morning to St Brigids Church, Lisdowney for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in St. Finnans Cemetery, Ballyragget.

Margaret (Rita) Henderson (née Hickey)

The death has occurred of Margaret (Rita)  Henderson (née Hickey), Donaghmede and formerly of Rathdowney, Co Laois and Urlingford, Co Kilkenny, on November 13, 2025. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of staff at Tallaght University Hospital. Beloved wife of the late John (Seán) and loving mother to Hilda, Michael, John, Philip, Anne, William and David. Rita will be very sadly missed by her sons and daughters, son-in-law Stephen, daughter-in-law Sally, adored grandchildren Dylan, Lochlan, Lillian, Rowan, Ellie, brothers Tommy and Michael, sisters Maura, Ann and Bridget (also remembering her late siblings Donal and Angela), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, friends and neighbours.

Reposing at Staffords Funeral Home, Golf Links Road, Portmarnock (D13 E0A2) on Tuesday, November 18, from 4pm to 6pm. Removal on Wednesday morning to the Church of the Holy Trinity, Donaghmede (D13 H920) arriving for Funeral Mass at 10am followed by burial in Fingal Cemetery. Family flowers only please, donations if desired to Irish Kidney Association or Tallaght University Hospital Foundation. Michael Dooley

The death has occurred of Michael (Mick) Dooley, Lacken Drive, Kilkenny, and formerly of Carrigeen, Johnswell. President of O'Loughlin Gaels GAA Club. Mick passed away on November 14, 2025, peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Brigid and much loved father of Nichola, Justin and Dawn. Mick will be dearly missed by his wife and family, his adored grandchildren Jude, Darcy, Harry and Seb, brother Murt, sisters Cathy, Josie, Nellie and Peggy, extended family, neighbours, a wide circle of friends and by all at O'Loughlin Gaels. Predeceased by his parents Martin and Margaret and brothers Tom and Paddy

Requiem Mass on Monday morning at 10.30am in St. John's Church, Kilkenny. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran's Cemetery. House strictly private please. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here REQUIEM MASS

Brendan O'Brien

The death has occurred of Brendan O’Brien, Fr. Murphy Square and formerly of O’Brien’s Bicycle Shop, James’s Street, Kilkenny City, peacefully at this residence on Sunday, November 16, 2025 surrounded by his loving and caring family. Predeceased by his devoted wife Ann. Brendan will be forever missed by his son John, daughter-in-law Kathleen and adored grandchildren Karen, Aoife, Jason and their partners Ray, Mossie and Shaina, extended family, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Brendan will repose in Shasby’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny City on Tuesday, November 18, 2025 from 5pm to 7pm with Funeral Prayers at 6.15pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday (19th) in St. Mary’s Cathedral at 11am followed by burial in Foulkstown Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here Brendan’s Funeral Cortege will walk from his residence Wednesday at 10.30am to St. Mary’s Cathedral for Requiem Mass at 11am. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to all the staff in The Carlow/Kilkenny Homecare Team, G.P Dr Conall Mac Conmara, Ayrfield Medical Centre and The Public Health Nursing Staff for all their care and support given to Brendan and his family during his illness.
