Ursula Timmins

The death has occurred of Ursula Timmins, St. Rioch Street, Kilkenny City, who died peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 in the exceptional care of all the staff of Drakelands House Nursing Home, in her 96th year. Predeceased by her parents Paddy and Josephine, brothers, Tom, Patrick (Sonny) and Jim, sisters, Maureen and Violet. Ursula will be deeply missed by her niece Marion Minogue and all of her extended family, good neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Ursula will repose in Shasby’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny City on Friday, January 2, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm with rosary and vigil prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday (3rd) in St. Mary’s Cathedral, Kilkenny City at 11am followed by burial in Foulkstown Cemetery. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live only here No flowers please, donations in lieu to St. Mary’s Day Care Centre, donation box in Funeral Home and Church. Ursula’s family would like to thank Doctors Claire Cusack and Joanne Cuddihy, Ayrfield Medical Practice, MacEneaney’s Pharmacy, High Street, Dovida Home Care Service, in particular Elifor and Mary Ann for all their help and support given to Ursula and her family during her illness. Anne (Nan) O'Neill Garvan (née Brett)

The death has occurred of Anne (Nan) O'Neill Garvan (née Brett), Margaret's Field, Callan Road, Kilkenny.Nan passed away on 30th December 2025, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Drakelands Nursing Home. Beloved mother of Linda and Con, mother-in-law to Maeve and Ann. Much loved grandmother of Aimee, Cheryl, Laura, Yvonne, Elaine, Leeann, Nicola, Terry, Amanda and Conor. Nan will be sadly missed by her 14 cherished great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Nan is predeceased by her adored son Billy, her first husband William (Bee) O'Neill, her second husband Des Garvan, her brothers and sisters Tom, Jim, Mamie, David, Sean, Peggy and Eddie.

Brigid (Bridie) O’Keeffe (née Walsh)

The death has occurred of Brigid (Bridie) O'Keeffe (neé Walsh), Clashroe, Carrigeen, Mooncoin, Kilkenny / Waterford, on December 31, 2025. Loving mother to her children Maura, Kathleen, Eamon, Breda, Theresa and Bernie. Predeceased by her loving husband Mickie, brothers Billy, Mickie and Johnny, sisters-in-law Stella, Mary and Peggy and daughter-in-law Mary O’Keeffe (née Fripps). Sadly missed by her sons-in-law, 13 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing on Thursday at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow from 5pm until 7pm. Arriving on Friday at St. Kevin’s Church, Carrigeen for Requiem Mass at 11am. Burial after in the adjoining cemetery. The immediate family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation to all the staff at Mooncoin Residential Care Home where Bridie resided for the past two and half years. The family would like to acknowledge the great care and attention given to their mother.

Kay Murphy (née McDonald)

The death has occurred of Kay Murphy (née McDonald), Havenwood and Kilbarry Care Centre, Kilbarry, Waterford / Ballycallan, Kilkenny. Late of Williamstown Park, Waterford and Michaelschurch, Ballycallan, Co. Kilkenny. Died December 31, 2025.Predeceased by her parents Josephine and Mark. Much loved mother of Valerie and Lianne. Will be sadly missed by her sisters Mary and Teresa, grandchildren Ryan and Neeva, son-in-law Paul and Lianne's partner Declan, her niece Christina, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Kay's funeral cortege will walk from Ballytruckle Green at 10.40am on Monday, January 5, 2026, to the Sacred Heart Church, the Folly, Waterford for Mass on arrival at 11am, burial afterwards in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ballykeefe, Co. Kilkenny. Mass will be live streamed on Monday from 11am: Mass Link

Jim Gannon

The death has occurred of Jim Gannon of Cloondara, Oakpark, Tralee, Co. Kerry and formerly Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, died peacefully on December 31, 2025, beloved husband of Bernie, dear father of Justine and Vanessa and cherished brother of Maureen (Scannell) and the late Richard, Michael, William, Eleanor and Vera. Sadly missed by his loving family, his granddaughter Victoria, nephew, nieces, grandnephews, brother-in-law, sister-in-law, relatives and many good friends.

Jim will repose at the Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee, on Friday, January 2 from 3pm to 5 pm. Funeral arriving to St. John’s Church, Tralee on Saturday at 9.30am where the Requiem Mass for Jim will be celebrated at 10am (streamed on www.stjohns.ie). Interment afterwards in Réalt na Mara Cemetery, Churchill.

Séamus Cody

The death has occurred of Séamus Cody, Robert Street, New Ross, Co.Wexford and late of Ballycurran, Tullogher, Co. Kilkenny, on December 27, 2025. Deeply regretted by his brother Séan, extended family, neighbours and many friends.

Reposing in Doyle's Funeral Home The Rectory Rosbercon, New Ross from 5pm on Saturday, January 3, concluding at 7pm, pausing for Prayers at 6pm. Removal will take place at 10.30am on Sunday, January 4, from Doyle's Funeral Home to arrive at The Church Of The Assumption Rosbercon for 11am Requiem Mass followed by burial in Listerlin Cemetery (passing Ballycurran en route). Ned Howley

The death has occurred of New Howley, Ullid, Kilmacow, Kilkenny. Ned passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 31, 2025, at University Hospital Waterford surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Nora. Sadly missed by his sister Mary, nephews Pat and Mike, niece Nora, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing on Saturday at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow from 4pm until 6pm. Arriving on Sunday at St. Senan’s Church Kilmacow for Requiem Mass at 11:15am.
