Mairéad McDonald (née O’Donovan)

The death has occurred of Mairéad McDonald (née O'Donovan), Ballintlea, Mullinavat, Kilkenny / Slieverue, Kilkenny / Waterford. Formerly of Curraghmore, Slieverue, County Kilkenny. Mairéad passed away peacefully on Tuesday surrounded by her loving family at University Hospital Waterford. Predeceased by her sister Marie, grandparents, uncles Christy and Murty and mother-in-law Breda. Sadly missed and cherished by her loving husband Jimmy, parents John and Mary, twin sister Elaine, brother Martin, father-in-law Peter, aunts, uncles, sister-in-law Sally, brother-in-law Jim, niece, nephew, cousins, relatives and many friends and work colleagues at FBD Insurance Waterford.

Reposing on Friday at Donnacha Doyle & Sons Funeral Home, Grannagh, Kilmacow from 3:30pm until 8pm. Arriving on Saturday at The Church of the Assumption Slieverue for Requiem Mass at 12noon. Burial after in Mullinavat Cemetery. Family flowers only please. Helyn O'Neill (née Lowry)

The death has occurred of Helyn O'Neill (née Lowry), Dooks, Glenbeigh and formerly of Sheheree, Loreto Road, Killarney and Kilkenny City. Helyn passed away peacefully on February 18, 2026 surrounded by her loving family and in the wonderful care of the nurses and staff of Sonas Ashborough Nursing Home, Milltown. Beloved wife of David and loving mother of Stephen, Jennifer, Wendie, Diane, Sarah and Jayme. Sadly missed by her sons-in-law Mike, Valerio and Rory, her daughter-in-law Jigna, her adored grandchildren Lauren, Fionn, Liam, Edson and Teddy, brother Jack, sister Mary, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and many friends. Helyn is pre-deceased by her brother Jim and sister Ann.

Reposing at O'Shea's Funeral Home, Killarney, Thursday, February 19, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm followed by removal to St. Mary's Cathedral. Requiem Mass will take place at 10:30am on Friday followed by burial afterwards in Aghadoe Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed on https://www.churchservices.tv/killarneycathedral.

Sheila Drury (née Cahill)

The death has occurred of Sheila Drury (née Cahill), Stradbally, Co. Laois and formerly of Cricklewood, London and Ballyouskill, Co. Kilkenny, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, in the care of the staff at Midland Regional Hospital Portlaoise on February 17, 2026. Predeceased by her beloved husband Brendan, daughter Marie, sister Anne, and her parents Patrick and Anne. Sheila will be deeply missed and forever remembered by her devoted son Paul, sisters Catherine and Maura, brother Johnny, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours, and her many friends in Ireland and London.

Sheila will repose in the Presentation Chapel, Stradbally from 6pm to 8pm on Thursday with recital of the Rosary at 8pm. Funeral Mass will take place in the Sacred Heart Church, Stradbally at 11am on Friday followed by cremation in Newlands Cross Crematorium for family and close friends. House private please. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude and thanks to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Portlaoise Hospital for the exceptional care, kindness, and support shown to Sheila and her family during her final days. Liam Mulrooney

The death has occurred of Liam Mulrooney, Newbridge, Co. Kildare and formerly of Dunbell, Co. Kilkenny. Liam passed away on the February 17, in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Predeceased by his parents Edmond and Margaret, brother Eddie and sister Angela. Liam will be forever missed by his beloved wife and best friend Maureen, sisters Margaret Crotty (Kilkenny), Kathleen Dunican (Ardcath, Co. Meath), brother Pat (Maddoxstown), sister-in-law Ann McGuinness (Castleknock, Co. Dublin), brothers and sisters-in-law, adored nieces and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, relatives, wonderful friends and neighbours. The family would like to thank the staff of the care at home team in Newbridge, the Residence Nursing Home in Kilkenny and in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny for taking such good care of Liam in recent months

Reposing at Hehir's Funeral Home, Kilkenny (R95 FH90) on Thursday, February 19, from 5pm concluding with Vigil Prayers and Rosary at 6.30p.m followed by removal to St. Colman's Church, Clara, Co. Kilkenny (R95 K29O). Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am followed by interment in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please. Liam's Requiem Mass will be live streamed REQUIEM MASS

Bridget (Bridie) O'Brien (née Connolly)

The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) O'Brien (née Connolly), Friars Hill, Thomastown, Kilkenny / Hollymount, Mayo. Formerly of Davris, Hollymount, Co. Mayo. Following a short illness, Bridie died peacefully at University Hospital Waterford on Monday,  February 16. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Mary Delia Connolly, husband Billy, her brothers Joe, Séan and Patrick, sister-in-law Ita and nephew John. Deeply regretted by her loving family - her sisters: Kitty, Freddie, Mary and Teresa, her brothers: Miko and Willie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, friends, neighbours and carers.

Reposing in the Mercy Side Chapel of the Church of the Assumption, Thomastown, R95 YP97 from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, February 19, with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6.30pm. Requiem Mass on Friday at 11am in the Church of the Assumption followed by interment in St Mary's New Cemetery, Thomastown, Co Kilkenny. Bernadette Delaney (née Connolly)

The death has occurred of Bernadette Delaney (née Connolly), Knockeenbawn, Kilmanagh, Co. Kilkenny and formerly of Coalisland, Co. Tyrone. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at Archersrath Nursing Home, Kilkenny on Monday,  February 16, 2026. Recently pre-deceased by her husband Seán. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her loving family, sister Frances McIlvenna, The Delaney Family, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, relatives and many friends.
