Irene Kinsella (née Holden)

The death has occurred of Irene Kinsella (née Holden), Kinsella’s Shop, High Street, Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Irene passed away peacefully at St Luke’s General Hospital surrounded by her loving family on March 12, 2026 in the exceptional care of the Barrow Ward.

Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

Darina Horvathova (née Holystova)

The death has occurred of Darina Horvathova (née Holystova), Hebron Park, Kilkenny, and formerly of Kosice, Slovakia. Darina passed away on March 11, 2026, peacefully, at St. Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, after a short illness. Beloved wife of Jano and much loved mother of Thomas, Erik and Emily. Darina will be dearly missed by her loving family, her extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Saturday, March 14, from 11am to 1pm followed by a private cremation.

Robert (Bertie) Griffith

The death has occurred of Robert (Bertie) Griffith, Royal Oak Road, Bagnelstown, Co. Carlow, and formerly of Knocklane, Coolcullen, Co. Kilkenny. Bertie passed away on, March 12, 2026, peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Bertie will sadly missed by his loving wife Mary, daughters Caroline and Rosemarie, son William, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, grandchildren Darren, Emma, Aoife, Becky, Grace, Jasmine, Noah, Eric and Charlotte, sister Violet, nephews, nieces, extended family, kind neighbours and friends. Predeceased by his wives Alice and Kathleen, his brothers Francis, Thomas, Billy, Sam, Josh, Albert, George and his sister Susan

Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Friday, March 13, from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm. Funeral Service at 12noon in St. Lazerian's Cathedral, Old Leighlin. Interment afterwards in Mothel Parish graveyard, Coolcullen (R93W253). House strictly private please. Family flowers only. Donations, if desired, to ALONE  DONATIONS
