Musical royalty attended the opening gig of Kilkenny Tradfest in St Canice's Cathedral on Friday night as Sharon Shannon and Richie Kavanagh attended.
The night proved to be a magical experience for audience members with Shannon leading the crowd in a heartfelt rendition of Happy Birthday to Richie, who was in the audience to celebrate.
"It was a magical tribute from one Irish music icon to another, a fitting moment of joy, respect, and camaraderie," spokesperson for Tradfest posted to social media.
