Derek Lyng is expected to be without the services of Huw Lawlor and Billy Ryan for the duration of the campaign, leaving many local supporters wondering if Liam MacCarthy's 111 season Noreside absence is any closer to ending.

"Negativity is not going to win any All-Irelands, it (the attitude) has to be positive," Comerford told CRKC Sport.

"This team is only a small bit away but I think we to reinvigorate the team with some young blood coming in and give them a carrot to say 'play well in this set up and the first few matches, nail down your place in the team and you have a great chance regardless of age.

"I think it's a great chance for some young players to go in there and grasp it and take it by the scruff of the neck," he continued.
