The Kilkenny Sub Aqua Club were out in force on Wednesday, June 28, with a river clean up by the River Nore in Kilkenny City.

Six divers on-board a small boat combined to remove rubbish from the Castle Slip to Green's Bridge stretch of the river.

The operation, primarily focused on removing waste from the banks adjacent to the river with a large number of beer cans amongst the discoveries.

PRO, Tony Stapleton, is keen to see further clean-ups in the water and is 'hopeful' that similar initiatives will take place in other parts of the county including Thomastown and Graignamanagh.
