Following an invitation from the Kilkenny Association, elected members of Kilkenny County Council have agreed to send two Kilkenny councillors to New York for St Patrick's Day.

Cllr Peter 'Chap' Cleere (FF) and Cllr Michael McCarthy (FF) will attend to a full itinerary in the Big Apple, including meetings with the IDA and the Tourism Board.

They will also meet with representatives from the Kilkenny Association and attend a variety of functions.

Cathaoirleach, Cllr Fidelis Doherty (FG), opted not to put her name forward to travel this year due to personal reasons.
