Local woman Liz Murphy has expressed thanks to all who baked for her fundraising cake sale on Saturday, donated items for the raffle and to all who attended on the day and bought cakes and tickets.

The fundraising, which was a huge success, is required to pay for the equipment and supplies when Liz is part of a volunteer dental nursing trip to Uganda.

The support trip is called Dentaid, when a team of dentists, 12 dental nurses and a group leader will travel to remote areas in Uganda to deliver emergency dental care to the people most of whom would have never seen a dentist before and have probably being in dental pain for a long time.

Winners of the raffle were: Noelle Egan, Tom Meagher, Noreen Hayes, Patrick Dermody, Peter Murphy.

Thanks went to Windgap Community Centre who hosted the Christmas craft fair.

Liz also thanked her family friends, local residents, work colleagues and local businesses who have given financial support.
