Drone with thermal imaging to aid missing person searches in Kilkenny

New Civil Defence DJI Matrice 30T Drone

The Civil Defence recently compiled the necessary paperwork to register Kilkenny County Council as a complex organisation with the Irish Aviation Authority for the use of the drones in Fire and Rescue and Civil Defence.

The Civil Defence unit will be taking ownership of a new DJI Matrice 30T Drone this year, fully funded by the Department of Defence to assist with missing person searches.

This new drone will have thermal imagining which is highly important and a first for Kilkenny Civil Defence.
