RIP: Tributes flood in for 'great character' as highly regarded Kilkenny man passes away

Tributes have flooded in for the late Pat Delaney, a well known figure locally who passed away suddenly last week.

"A kind and decent gentleman. May Pat rest in peace," one mourner wrote, while another added, "Very sorry to hear of Pats passing. We had great times working together for years. He was a great work colleague to have. Sincere condolences to all Pats family."

Another person paid tribute by saying: "Memories to last a lifetime, a great character and a fantastic person. Sincere sympathies to all his family."

Mr Delaney's former employers, Lahart's Garage also remembered their 'friend of over 50 years': "Deepest sympathy to Pat, Karren, Mark, Pat's adored grandchildren and all the family. We are all so saddened at the loss of our friend of over 50 years. We have so many memories, so many stories of Pat's years with us. He will be missed by us all. Rest easy Pat."

FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Friday, February 7 from 4pm to 7pm pausing for Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday morning at 11am in St Canice's Church. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran's Cemetery.
