An Garda Síochana in Kilkenny launched the latest phase of 'Operation Lifesaver' with high visibility checkpoints in a number of local locations over the weekend.
At the launch of the operation in Foulkstown on Thursday, Divisional Roads Policing Inspector Paul Donohoe was joined at the checkpoint by nine members of An Garda Síochána (including trainee gardaí), as well as representatives from the National Ambulance Service and Fire Service. - READ MORE HERE
"Every Bank Holiday weekend we give an extra push to Road Safety measures resulting in more arrests for Drink Driving, Drug Driving and Dangerous Driving," a garda spokesperson said.

However, as the operation draws to a close on Monday evening, gardaí are keen to remind people road safety applies all day, every day.
The message from gardaí is clear: "Don't speed and avoid distractions such mobile phones."
