'You will be sadly, sadly missed' - Kilkenny parishioners pay tribute to outgoing priest

The Bishop of Ossory, Niall Coll has confirmed a number of changes and retirements within the Diocese meaning many Kilkenny parishes will be bidding farewell to former parish priests and welcoming new ones.

As a result, Kilkenny Live readers have expressed their gratitude and thanks to a number of priests including Fr Eamonn O'Gorman who moves from the Ballyragget and Lisdowney area to the Galmoy, Johnstown and Urlingford parishes.

"Father O Gorman is a gentleman, a people’s priest, you will be sadly, sadly missed in Ballyragget, best of luck in your new parish god bless you," one commenter said.

Another added: "Fr O' Gorman will be very much missed he is a true people person, wishing him all the best in your new parish."

Meanwhile, another Kilkenny Live reader commented: "There will be a lot of people very sorry to see Father O Gorman leave Ballyragget, he certainly was a friend to all."

The alterations reflect a broader national trend of adjusting to a changing landscape of parish structures and clergy numbers. These changes often involve priests taking on new roles, including assistant priest positions, moderator roles in pastoral combinations, and chaplaincies.
