Local authority confirm intention to carry out major works in Kilkenny village

Kilkenny County Council has given notice of its intention to carry out works in Urlingford Village consisting of the provision of a new pedestrian crossing with raised zebra crossing controlled with belisha beacons at a location adjacent to the Lumper Lane (LT 18121) and Main St (R639) Junction.

The local authority also intend to construct a new pedestrian crossing with raised zebra crossing controlled with traffic control signals at a location adjacent to the R689 and Main St (R639) Junction along with the conversion of the pedestrian crossing from traffic control signals to a zebra crossing controlled with belisha beacons at a location east of the New Road (LP 1812) and Main St (R639) Junction.

The proposals are available to view at the Castlecomer Area Office, Kilkenny Road, Castlecomer from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm or via the council's website.

Submissions or observations with respect to the proposed development dealing with the proper planning and development of the area in which the development will be carried out may be made in writing to the undersigned, submitted online at https://consult.kilkenny.ie or emailed to activetravel@kilkennycoco.ie.

Submissions should be clearly marked 'Traffic & Pedestrian Safety Measures Urlingford' and received before 4pm on Friday, September 26.  Please note late submissions will not be accepted.
