Kilkenny dancers shine at World Irish Dancing Championships

Dancers from the Deirdre Maher School in Kilkenny shone brightly at the World Irish Dancing Championships in Killarney this week.

Their dedication and hard work throughout the year truly paid off at this prestigious event.

In the U10 Championship, Eva Hoyne proudly brought home two world medals and achieved an impressive 8th place overall.

Evelyn McCormack won three world medals including two second places and secured 11th place out of 107 competitors.

In the U12 Championship, Ella McCormack celebrated her success with three world medals, placing 26th out of 160 competitors.

Coach Deirdre is extremely proud of all her dancers who participated this year.

She offers classes at The Watershed Kilkenny and Xquisite Dance Studio in Hebron Industrial Park and tells Kilkenny Live that newcomers are always welcome!
