Wojciech Panek (17)
A Kilkenny community has been left heartbroken after the death of a young man in a tragic incident in Galway at the weekend.
Wojciech Panek (17), from Graignamanagh, was one of three people who lost their lives when the car they were in entered the water at Menlo Pier.
Described as an ‘amazing and kindhearted’ young man who always had a smile, he was previously a pupil at St John’s Senior School in Kilkenny and later at Grennan College in Thomastown.
Wojciech was the loving son of Grzegoz and Katarzyna and brother of Kamil and Viktoria.
He will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family and friends, many of whom have been paying tribute to him online.
“He was a breath of fresh air and always had a smile on his face,” wrote one person sympathising with the family.
An internment of ashes will take place on Friday at 2pm in Calvary Cemetery, Graignamanagh.
