Permission has been granted by Kilkenny County Council to two separate planning applicants relating to telecommunications infrastructure.
Vantage Towers Limited have been granted planning permission, subject to six conditions, for the erection of a 24m lattice telecommunications support structure together with associated antennas and dishes on a 1.2 metre high raised foundation (providing an overall height of 25.2 metres) at Crowbally, Mullinavat, County Kilkenny.

As part of the application, permission was also granted to remove the existing 15 metre lattice telecommunications structure with antennas (providing an overall height of 16.9 metres).
The application notes that the development is all enclosed within an existing compound.
Separately, APW UK WIP Limited (trading as Icon Tower) have been granted planning permission, subject to seven conditions, to erect a 30m high telecommunications lattice structure at Curraghmartin, Carrigeen, County Kilkenny.

This planned telecommunications structure will also have antennas, dishes and associated telecommunications equipment.
The planning application notes that it will all be enclosed by security fencing.

Both planning applications were given the green light early last week.
