A Kilkenny man has admitted he is living in fear for his life after being detained by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) last September.
Seamus Culleton, who is married to a US citizen, has lived in the US for 20 years and held a Massachusetts driving license and a valid work permit at the time of his arrest.
Mr Culleton remains in custody after being pulled over by ICE on the way home from working at the plastering business he owns.
He was subsequently taken to a detention centre in New York and latterly El Paso.

The Glenmore native told RTÉ's Liveline programme that living conditions in the centre are like a 'modern day concentration camp.'
"I'm in fear for my life here, people have been killed by staff here," he told the programme.
"I've been locked in the same room now for four and a half months. I've had barely any outside time. No fresh air, no sunshine.
"I'm just locked in this room all day, every day," he explained.
"The conditions here are filthy," he added.
