Emergency crews were called out when the wildfire on Slievenamon reignited yesterday (Sunday).

Fire crews from Clonmel Fire Station and Carrick-on-Suir Fire Station attended at the scene, on Sunday morning, and worked into the afternoon to contain the affected area.

Aerial was also requested to assist response operations.

A spokesperson for the emergency services said there was no threat to life or property arising from this incident. The situation was closely monitored and resources remained in place as required.

As previously advised, occasional flare-ups are not uncommon following a wildfire of this scale. Hotspots can remain beneath the surface for prolonged periods and may reignite under favourable conditions until the affected ground and vegetation are fully dampened by sustained rainfall.

Tipperary Fire and Rescue Service will continue to assess the situation and respond as necessary. Further updates will be provided should there be any significant change in circumstances.

The public is thanked for its continued cooperation and vigilance.
