The Kilkenny City bus service: A route change is on the way

The National Transport Authority has announced a revision to the KK2 City Bus Service commencing this Sunday, April 27.

The route is being changed to facilitate future works at Vicar Street, which will become one-way on completion.

Currently, buses travel from St Luke’s Hospital via the Freshford Road, Bishop’s Hill and Vicar Street to Irishtown, with bus stops at the Loreto on the Freshford Road and at Vicar Street. These two bus stops will no longer be in use.

The new inbound route will go from St Luke’s Hospital, via Grange Road Roundabout, Grange Road, Butt’s Green and Dean Street to Irishtown. Outbound buses will follow the same route. The remainder of the route will not be affected. There will be new bus stops at the Grange Road near the Dunningstown Junction, Ayrfield and Butt’s Green.
