THE BIG SHAVE

Participants have been growing moustaches or beards - some for less than 40 days, others for 40 years

The wait is almost over! This Friday will see nine facially follicled men enter a city venue from where each will later leave having transfered into clean shaven individuals.

It’s ‘Tache4Cash’, a fundraiser in aid of Dunnamaggin LGFC, for which participants have been growing moustaches or beards, some for less than 40 days, others for 40 years, all of which will go in time for the weekend.

Taking part in the occasion at Set Theatre at Langton’s are: Séan Ryan, Matt Doran, Jim Fallon, Jim McCormack, Joe Sheridan, Bob Moore, Séamus Knox, Owen Harrisson and Ken Cogley.

Added to that there's music from After Dark while Edward Hayden's the event’s Master of Ceremonies. Doors are open from 8.30pm so make sure you’re in good and early to grab a great spot.

A lot of camaraderie has been built up between the boys and those supporting them so attendees can expect a bit of banter to spill over into the fun of the occasion as the team from Authentic Turkish Barbers get stuck in.

All of the craic while also helping to raise some much needed funds!  Entry costs €10 and are available from a variety of venues across the area.

For those looking to attend but who are stuck for transport on the night, a bus will leave Kilmoganny Post Office at 8pm picking up at Dunnamaggin Credit Union at 8.10pm and Bob’s Shop in Kells at 8.20pm with a return journey from 1.30/2am. Tickets for this cost €10 and must be bought in Bob’s Shop in advance as spaces are limited.

If you can’t make it on Friday you can still help by donating online here.
