MEMORY: Kilkenny great TJ Reid steals the spotlight at huge event

Two familar faces in Kilkenny life were at the heart of the festivities at Killarney Racecourse
HIGHLIGHT: Seven-time All-Ireland medal winner with Kilkenny, TJ Reid traded the hurling field for the racing track last summer as he joined wife Niamh de Brún on the judging panel for the Best Dressed competition at Killarney Races.
The Shamrocks clubman was a special guest alongside de Brún as the couple cast their eyes over the fashion stakes, picking out the standout looks from racegoers at one of Ireland's most popular summer racing festivals.
We now know last season was Reid's last in a county jersey after he called time on his Kilkenny career on Friday. Supporters have now been looking back on the joy the sharp shopter gave them over a near 20 season inter-county career.
“Today is a different day for myself. I don't usually get invited to these things, but my wife Niamh is a fashion icon, so I got dragged along,” Reid told Racing TV on the day.
The seven-time All-Star recipient also praised the growing interest in men's fashion.
"Over the last couple of years, men's fashion has gone to a different level. Men are looking to dress up, look better and take better care of themselves."
