Gardaí in Kilkenny have utilised their social media channels to highlight a 'dangerous' and 'disturbing' trend that they've encountered following recent vehicle seizures.

"Kilkenny Roads Policing Unit made another seizure on a similar vein to one several weeks ago," a garda spokesperson stated.

"Another 'slammed' car, one lowered to such a degree that its suspension was unable to function.

"To facilitate the limbo stance, owners are in some cases removing suspension components altogether to achieve that perfect stance.

"In the picture from a recent examination, the antiroll bar was removed, cut from the vehicle. The springs were actually rattling loose and under no tension effectively removing all suspension travel. This is dangerous.

"Drivers using vehicles such as these may expect interception, seizure of vehicle, psv examination of vehicle and an appearance before the District Court.

"Other modifications that endanger public safety will attract similar scrutiny including illegal window tints, Reek Maps and vehicles with serious modifications that the insurance companies have not been informed of.

"If you are driving such a vehicle in a public place, STOP. Put your vehicle right and only then use it in the shared space."
