Organisers of the 'Kilkenomics' Festival have paid tribute to their general manager, Miriam Dunne who has sadly passed away.
The annual festival combines comedy and economics with some of the leading figures in both industries taking part in shows across Kilkenny City each November.
Ms Dunne passed peacefully at University Hospital Waterford, surrounded by her loving family over the weekend.
Posting to social media, a spokesperson for 'Kilkennyenomics' paid an emotional tribute, stating: "We're heartbroken to share with the Kilkenomics family the news that we've lost to this world the dynamo at the heart of it all: our general manager, Miriam Dunne.
"Miriam was a brilliant and innovative producer and programmer who worked on festivals in Kilkenny, Waterford and Dublin and was an absolute joy to work and play with," the post added.
"Our heartfelt condolences to her friends, family and the wider arts community. Ní bheidh a leithéid arís ann."
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS: Reposing at Thompsons Funeral Home, Barrack Street, Waterford on Friday, December 27 from 7 pm to 8.30 pm.
Miriam’s funeral cortege will be walking from her residence on Manor Street on Saturday, December 28 to St John’s Church, Parnell Street for Requiem Mass on arrival at 9.30 am followed by burial in St Otterans Cemetery, Waterford.
