The death has occurred of Priscilla (Elizabeth) Flanagan (née Coogan), Pomadora House, Clinstown, Freshford, Kilkenny, R95 F596 / Tullaroan, Kilkenny. Priscilla died peacefully surrounded by her loving family in St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny. Pre-deceased by her parents William and Margaret and her recently deceased husband Laurence (Larry). Deeply regretted by her loving daughters Edel, Fionnuala (Lennon) and Irene (Clark), her grandchildren Hannah and Emily, sons-in-law Brendan and Ian, brother Lallie, sister Christina (Hanlon), sister-in-law Anne, nieces, nephews, relatives, friends, carers and good neighbours.

The death has occurred of Maureen Cooney (née Brennan), Westfield, Kilkenny and formerly of Massford, Castlecomer, Co. Kilkenny. Peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on Friday, January 9, 2026. Pre-deceased by her parents and her sister Sheila Gleeson. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by her sorrowing family, her husband Frank, her loving son and daughter, son-in-law, her brothers Kieran and Tommy, her sister Breda (Murphy), sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Janice Shanahan (née Grogan), Ballyfolan, Brittas, Dublin, D24KP70 / Lurgan, Antrim / Kilkenny, who passed away peacefully and surrounded by family on January 8, 2026. Survived by her beloved husband Eddie, daughters Sarah and Aoife, Mother Anne, and her brother Ian. She will also be sadly missed by all the Grogan’s, Gallery’s, and Shanahan’s, and friends near and far. Many thanks to St. Brigid’s hospice supporting her home care in her final weeks, Izabella, Liliana, and Loredana and the HSE home carers.

The death has occurred of Kate (Kitty) Irish (née Fitzgerald), Mount Swan, Nicholastown, Slieverue, and late of Aylwardstown, Glenmore, Co. Kilkenny, who died on Friday, January 9, 2026, peacefully in her 90th year surrounded by her loving family in the gentle care of Mooncoin Residential Care Centre. Predeceased by her husband Pat, parents Michael and Mary, sisters Peggy (Roche), Nellie (Irish) and Molly (Doherty) and grandson Patrick. Kate will be sadly missed by her children Olga, PJ, Michael, Andrew, Anne Maria, Garrett and Roger, her 18 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren, sons-in-law Thomas and William, daughters-in-law Marley, Betty, Therese and Wendy, sisters-in-law Biddy and Mary, nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, extend family, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Stasia Commins (née Doherty) Banagher, Piltown, Co. Kilkenny. After a short illness, Stasia passed away peacefully in the great care of the staff in Mooncoin Residential Care Centre. Predeceased by her loving husband Jim, brothers Jimmy, Dick, Paddy and John, sisters Joe, Nelly and Mary.
