Noreen Cody (née Cregan)

The death has occurred of Noreen Cody (née Cregan), 'Newmore', Callan Road, Kilkenny and formerly of Newcastle West, Co. Limerick. Noreen, passed away peacefully on January 24, 2026, surrounded by family and in the wonderful care of the staff of St. Luke's Hospital. Predeceased by her loving husband Martin. Deeply regretted by her devoted sons Dan, Carl, Richie and Martin, brother Michael, sisters Maeve and Cora, daughters-in-law Maggie and Ursula, grandchildren Fionn, Ruth and Niall, sister-in-law Breda, brothers-in-law Mícheál and Fr. Tom, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours and friends. Noreen is also predeceased by her parents Carl and Maureen, brothers Richard and Carl, sisters Mary and Elsie and nephew Carl McGovern. The family would like to thank in a special way all in the Nore Ward at St. Luke's Hospital for the kindness and care shown to both Noreen and themselves during her time there.

Reposing at her home on the Callan Road (R95 XRK6) on Monday, January 26, from 3pm concluding with Rosary and Vigil Prayers at 7pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday at 11:30am in St. Patrick's Church (R95 VX96). Funeral afterwards to Foulkstown Cemetery. House private on Tuesday please. Family flowers only. Patricia (Patsy) Cody (née Holden)

The death has occurred of Patricia (Patsy) Cody née Holden Gurteen, Mullinahone, Co. Tipperary, who passed away peacefully on January 23, 2026, in the loving care of the staff of Kilkenny Care Centre, surrounded by her devoted family. Predeceased by her beloved husband Michael, her son Declan, and her brother Tom. Patricia will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her sorrowing family: daughters Marie (Donahue) and Claire; sons Robert, Pat, Milo, and Ray; her brother John; sisters Joan, Sr. Alice, and Stella; son-in-law Michael; daughters-in-law Liz, Sandra, Bridget, and Marie; her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews; extended family, neighbours, and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at Brett’s Funeral Home (E41 EV78) on Monday, January 26, from 5pm to 8pm. Requiem Mass on Tuesday, January 27, at 11.30am in St. Michael’s Church ,(E41 EW94) Mullinahone, followed by burial afterwards in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Kilaghy, Mullinahone.

Maureen Kerrigan (née O'Keeffe)

The death has occurred of Maureen Kerrigan (née O'Keeffe), Rogerstown, Rush, Co. Dublin and formerly of Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny, January 23, 2026. Peacefully, at Beaumont Hospital in her 103rd year. Beloved wife of the late Michael. She will be sadly missed by her loving daughter Michèle, son Martin, daughter-in-law Mandy, grandchildren Lucy and Kirsty, nephew Alan, his wife Mary, their sons Stephen, Brian and John, Michael’s nephew Thomas (Mossy) and his family, her extended family and friends.

Reposing at Fitzgerald's Funeral Directors, Channel Road, Rush on Tuesday from 5pm to 7pm. Funeral mass on Wednesday morning at 10am in St. Maur's Church, Rush followed by burial in Whitestown Cemetery, Rush. House private please.

 

Willie Lennon

The death has occurred of Willie Lennon,Main Street, Graignamanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Willie passed away peacefully at home on Friday, January 23, 2026 surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Kathleen and Liam and his sister Ann. Sadly missed by his loving wife Carol, daughter Katriona, his sisters Margaret and Kay, his brother John, mother in law Mary, his close friend Arif, brothers in law Des and John, sister in law Corona, his nieces Amanda and Kelly, his nephews Liam and Jake, his grandchildren, extended family, close cousins, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.

Reposing at his home on Main Street (Eircode R95PYK8) from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, January 26. Removal on Tuesday 27th at 9.45am to arrive at Duiske Abbey for Requiem Mass at 10am. A cremation service will follow in Newlands Crematorium (Eircode D24K1CY) at 1.30pm following Mass in Duiske Abbey. John Shasby

The death has occurred of John Shasby, formerly of St. Joseph’s Road, Kilkenny City, peacefully after a long illness surrounded by his devoted family, in the excellent care of all the staff in St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, January 24, 2026. Predeceased by his parents Jack and Bridie, his sisters Anne, Margaret and brother Patrick. John will be deeply missed by his sisters and brothers, Teresa, Marie, Martin and Gerard, sister-in-law Caroline, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing in Shasby’s Funeral Home, Kilkenny City on Monday, January 26, from 5pm with rosary at 7pm followed by removal to St. Canice’s Church for Reception Prayers at 7.45pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday (27th) at 10.30am in St.Canices Church followed by burial in St. Kieran’s Cemetery. The Requiem Mass can be viewed live only here John’s family would like to thank all the staff in Borris Lodge Nursing Home Carlow for all their help and support given to John and his family during his stay there. House strictly private please.

Seán Delaney

The death has occurred of  Seán Delaney, Knockeenbawn, Kilmanagh, Co. Kilkenny. Unexpectedly, at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny, on Thursday,  January 22, 2026. Pre-deceased by his parents Edward and Betty, his sister Noreen (Power) and his brothers Noel and Brendan. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by his loving family, his wife Bernadette, his brothers Eamon and Dom, his sisters Josie, Jennie, Marie and Dinah, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.
