The death has occurred of David (Davy) Holohan, Daithí Ó hUallacháin (Artist), Wolfe Tone Street and late of Assumption Place, Kilkenny. Daithí, passed away on February 1, 2026, unexpectedly, following an accident. Predeceased by his parents Edmond and Peig and just recently his brother Ned. Beloved father of Shauna. Daithí will be dearly missed by by his loving daughter and her mother Brigid, son-in-law David, his siblings Mary, Jim, Kathleen, Paddy, Johnny, Margaret and Martin, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, friends and all who knew him.
Reposing in Johnston's Funeral Home, John's Green, Kilkenny (R95XE00) on Friday, February 6, from 5pm to 7pm with prayers recited at 6pm. Requiem Mass on Saturday at 10.30am in St. John's Church. Funeral afterwards to St. Kieran's Cemetery. The Requiem Mass will be live streamed here REQUIEM MASS
The death has occurred of John Byrden, Glashare, Johnstown, Co. Kilkenny, on February 1, 2026, unexpectedly but peacefully at St. Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny surrounded by his loving family. Predeceased by his parents Paddy and Mary. Sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his heartbroken wife and best friend Freda, his adored sisters and brother, Marie (Whyte), Helen (Glendon), Hilda (Mackey) and Pat, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, parents-in-law Brian and Liz Mulvany, nieces, nephews, uncle Séan, aunt Stasia, cousins, extended family, neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
The death has occurred of Tom Cuddihy, Sutton, Howth and formerly of Glenmore, Co. Kilkenny. Tom passed away peacefully at home in his 96th year on January 31, 2026 in the loving care of his family. Beloved husband of the late Lynda Cuddihy (née Shelly) and loving father to Ann, Tom, Conor and Ciara. He will be sadly missed by his family, sister Hilda, sons-in law David, Dan and Daniel, daughter-in-law Clare, grandchildren Jennifer, Ciara, Lynda, Thomas, Aoife and Ella, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and many wonderful friends.

The death has occurred of Edward (Eddie) Malone, late of Owning House and formerly of Garryduff, Piltown, Kilkenny. Eddie passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026 surrounded by his family in University Hospital Waterford. pre-deceased by his parents Edward and Ann, brothers and sisters. Eddie will be sadly missed by his nieces and nephews, relatives, neighbours and wide circle of friends.
Eddie will be reposing at Walsh's Funeral Home, New Street, Carrick-on-Suir on Tuesday, February 3, from 5.30pm to 7pm. The death has occurred of Phyllis Quilty (née Hassett), Nicholastown, Mooncoin, Kilkenny. Phyllis passed away peacefully on Monday surrounded by her loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at Mooncoin Residential Care Centre. Predeceased by her husband James and her brothers Liam and Sean. Phyllis will be forever missed by her family Eddie, Karen (Grant) and Liam (Bobby), daughters-in-law Noreen and Alisa, son-in-law Jim, her adored grandchildren Aidín, Thomas, Ciarán, Kate, Hannah, Eimear and David, brother Tom, sisters-in-law Vera, Rena, Monica, Kathleen and Marguerite, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and many friends.

The death has occurred of Brigid O'Connell (née Kinsella), Freshford Road, Kilkenny and late of Ballyduff, Camolin, Co. Wexford, on January31, 2026 (peacefully) at University Hospital, Waterford. Predeceased by her beloved husband Desmond and her brother Noel. Much loved mother of Claire, Tara and John. Brigid will be deeply missed by her children, sisters Betty, Catherine, Mary and Ann, brothers Pat, Jim, Charlie, Frank and David, son-in-law Peter, grandchildren Kate and James, nephews, nieces, in-laws, extended family, neighbours and friends.

The death has occurred of Liam Cleere, Woodlawn, Bennettsbridge, Co. Kilkenny. Liam, in his 92nd year, passed away on January 30, 2026, peacefully, in the presence of his family and in the wonderful care of the staff at Castlecomer District Hospital. Predeceased by his son Billy. Beloved husband of Iris and much loved father of Eamonn, Gerry, Mark, Fiona, Fintan and Jenny. Liam will be dearly missed by his loving family, brothers Larry and Seamie, sisters Carmel and Margaret, sons-in-law John and Graham, daughters-in-law Lorendana, Julie, Gill and Karen, grandchildren Shauna, Ben, Chandon, Ciarán, Roisín, Tadgh, Niamh, Amber, William, Aimee and Alannah, great grandchildren Finn and Aria, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, friends and the members of Bennettsbridge GAA Club.
Removal from his residence in Woodlawn on Tuesday morning to St. Bennett's Church, Bennettsbridge arriving for Requiem Mass at 11am. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
